25/10/08 AVCAL announces first Lifetime Contribution Award

Bill Ferris AC & Joe Skrzynski AO, Founding Partners of the CHAMP Private Equity group, were honoured with the first AVCAL Lifetime Contribution to the Industry award at the 15th Annual AVCAL Conference Awards Dinner on Thursday 25 September 2008 on the Gold Coast.

The award acknowledges the 21st anniversary in the business partnership of Bill Ferris & Joe Skrzynski and achievements with the CHAMP Private Equity group, in particular the award recognises the sustained contribution by Joe and Bill to the development and support of AVCAL and the broader private equity industry.

Joe Skrzynski was instrumental in the formation of AVCAL, in 1992 and was a founding director. He chaired the first international conference on private equity in Australia in November 1992 and was Chairman in 1993-4.
Subsequently, Bill Ferris was Chairman in 1997, and introduced the AVCAL industry awards in that year.
